THE ANTUMBRAL VAULT

overview

Flower's Foundry is a flower shop in Ul'dah
with a teahouse in its basement, equipped with a stage for those that want to try their hand at a bit of combat.

Run by a pair of scholars, the Foundry is a location for those who want something a little less bloodthirsty than the Bloodsands. Have some tea- or something that hits a little harder- and enjoy good company, good fights, and good drinks.

spoilers

Flower's Foundry is a sprout-friendly venue. While we do not restrict character classes, backgrounds, or origins, we ask that players refrain from discussing MSQ plot beyond Stormblood inside.

ooc Roleplay rules

  • Mature themes such as drug use and violence are welcome. ERP and NSFW gposing are not permitted in the bar; keep it out of say.

  • OOC bigotry is not tolerated here <3

  • Respect the lore. We open our doors to all who wish to attend, but ask that characters represented might show up to a shady tea shop in Ul'dah to fight or support their friends.

  • Severe maiming and murder require prior discussion with other players, but either may see you banned from the stage- or the Vault - IC.

  • Generally speaking, breaking OOC rules will get you banned from the venue, but breaking IC rules will see your character temporarily banned and/or ejected from the establishment for the night.

combat rules

We're using the standard grindstone fighting ruleset , with a twist:

Before you fight, you will need to call out your selected "class" of combat. Should you be caught punching above that class, the bartender will break up your fight, and the offending character will be ejected (and temporarily banned) from the establishment.

The divisions of combat are
Hand, Mist, and Magic.

Hand: Purely physical. No job stones, no alchemical enhancements.Mist: Job stone, alchemical enhancements, buffs, and weapons are allowed. No offensive magic, no debuffs.Magic: No holds barred, anything goes- so long as you don't break the furniture.

bar rules (in-character)

  • Keep to your chosen weight class. Should the referee catch you cheating, you'll be expelled from the bar for the night.

  • Murder is unpleasant and draws attention. Keep your fights to the stage, and don't kill anyone.

  • Keep your attitude in check. We're all here for a good time; don't make the staff escort you out.

  • No one wants to see your genitals. We don't want to clean the furniture. If we catch you getting hot and heavy, we will break out the broom.

Patrons are welcome to explore interpersonal conflict in the venue, so long as everyone involved is agreeable OOC. However, you should expect some interaction with staff during intense scenes. If you come into conflict with the bartender, or would like us to adjust our part of a scene, feel free to /tell or use ((OOC marks)).

tea menu

Windflower Tea (2000G)
Windflower, Furymint; citrus notes
Enjoy the bright citrus-sour of branchberries mellowed by a gentle touch of Furymint with a magical surprise- the Windflowers shift the colours of your drink before your very eyes.
Cat's Candy (3000G)
Catsfoot, Pearl Clover, and Steppe Candyfruit; sweet and refreshing
Sweet as sugar, this blooming tea is as tasty as it's pretty. The candyfruit and castfoot provide a bright, sweet flavor, while the pearl clover adds an earthy base note to keep it from being cloying.
Afternoon Sunshine (2000G)
Dandelion, Saffron, and Lover's Laural; dark and warming
Herbal and complex, the saffron brightens up the color of this golden blooming tea, and the dandelion and lover's laurel bring a slightly bitter flavor similar to over-steeped doman tea - though it's much less caffeinated.
Traveller's Tonic (5000G)
Lotus and Nehpheletta; nutty and deep
Styled after a tea consumed in the east during the cold season, this tea is sure to reinvigorate a weary traveler. It should not be consumed by patrons with pre-existing heart conditions.
Hushed Whisper (2000G)
Chamomile, Campanula, and honey; herbal and calming
An excellent wind down tea, for when the night is spinning long and you're ready to get ready for bed.

booze

La Noscean Wine (2000G)
A tart, earthy red wine somewhat reminiscent of tabacco
The wine's tart, and it's cheap, but it's not half bad. It tastes faintly of oranges.
Quarrymill Mead (3000G)
Buckwheat Honey; rich and darkly-toned
This mead is darker than some might like, more heavy than sweet, but its profile is gentle and warm.
Sultana's Shot (3000G)
Whiskey, Lemon, and Sweet Tumeric
A glass of whiskey with lemon and sweet tumeric to mimic the colour of saffron in the traditional drink. It's not for taste - the blend has a strong sting of liquorice root, fennel, and white pepper.
The Mithril Eye (5000G)
Sparkling water, Gin, Furymint, ???
Overly botanical and bright blue, this drink is sure to wake you up and invigorate your senses. Best in moderation.

limited menu

Courtesy of Sweet Musings
A three-layer earl grey cake with layers of fig jam and mascarpone, topped with fresh figs and a drizzle of honey.
